Make sure agents can find your products by name

Agents that shop through UCP don't browse your pages first. They search your catalog and work from what comes back, so a product the search misses is invisible to them.

Check D3 in the Discovery dimension, worth 3 points of 100 and measured by software.

What we check

Through the MCP endpoint your UCP profile names, we call its search_catalog tool with the exact title of up to 3 sampled products, identified by our own agent profile. Full points when the product comes back with the price and availability your page shows. Half when it comes back with a different price or stock status. None when it doesn't come back.

The check doesn't apply when your profile names no MCP endpoint.

Why it matters

Agents shopping through Shopify Catalog find products by search; a miss keeps you out of the answer.

A result with the wrong price or stock is a problem of its own: the agent repeats it to the shopper, who then finds something different at checkout.

How to fix it

Check the product's sales channel availability for the Agentic channels and align its title. Typical effort: 1 hour.

  1. In Shopify admin, open the product and check its sales channels. It has to be available to the Agentic channels to appear in the catalog agents search.
  2. Make sure the product's title in Shopify matches the one on its page. Apps that rewrite titles for feeds or translations can leave the two out of step.
  3. Price and stock mismatches often come from apps that change what the page shows after Shopify renders it, such as currency converters or sale price apps.
