Tell agents whether they can check out on your store
Some AI channels can take a shopper through checkout without leaving the conversation. Your UCP profile tells them whether your store supports it.

What we check
We read the capabilities in your UCP profile. Full points for a checkout capability with at least one payment handler. Half for a cart capability alone, or a checkout capability with no payment handler. None when neither is there.
Why it matters
Agents that can check out for a shopper look for this capability first.
ChatGPT doesn't take payment itself. It sends shoppers to your store's own checkout. Google's AI Mode and Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Meta can take payment through Shopify's checkout without leaving the channel when direct checkout is on, and Google's version is in early access for select merchants in the US, Canada and Australia.
How to fix it
Turn on direct checkout for the Agentic channels where Shopify offers it. Typical effort: 15 minutes.
- In Shopify admin, open Sales channels, then Agentic, and turn on direct checkout for the channels that offer it. It's off by default.
